Is Famciclovir The Right Medicine For Cold Sores?
I have been prescribed Famciclovir for cold sores. There are 30 in the bottle. Previously, when I had Famciclovir there were a lot less, perhaps for 7 or 12 days. Thirty seems like a lot. Could there be a mistake? They are 250mg tablets to be taken one a day until gone.

If you have cold sores and doctor prescribed Famciclovir, most probably he diagnosed with herpes infection.
The usual dose is 500 mg up to 1500 mg daily depending on the symptoms.
Most probably doctor prescribed 500 mg / daily for 2 weeks. You should recheck with your pharmacist and doctor.
