Is Ciproflaxin The Right Medication For Severe UTI?
My father was just diagnosed with a UTI after having blood in his urine for about two weeks. He finally went to the ER because he could no longer urinate. They prescribed Ciproflaxin. This concerns me greatly as it has a black box warning. On my request he called them and they told him if you don t like what we prescribed then wait until you talk to your regular doctor in the morning and see what she recommends. Obviously he needs to be taking something as the infection was bad enough to cause him to require a catheter at this time. Do you have any alternatives he could ask the hospital for?

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the chronic condition of urinary tract infection then in such case urine need to be sent for culture sensitivity test, although urinary tract infection in male is very unlikely but it could be something else and may not be infection differential etiology is matters here hope this information helps.
