Is Anti-D Injection Advisable Post Miscarriage?

hi am 21 years and i have O- blood type, i had a miscarriage 6 months ago, but they didn t give me the Anti-D Shot. Am worry because i know that they should have given me a shot within 72 hr for my body to not build anti-bodies and effect my future pregnancies. I did some blood test and i have a result but i don t know how to read them.

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
It is unfortunate to know that you had a miscarriage.

Incomplete data like what was the duration of your pregnancy (gestation)?
Was it a spontaneous miscarriage? What is the blood group of your husband.

Anti-D injection is not required for spontaneous miscarriage before 12+ weeks of gestation, unless there is instrumentation or medical evacuation of the uterus.

Anti-D injection is also not required if you're certain that your husband is also Rh-negative.

It should be considered in women if there is heavy, repeated bleeding with abdominal pain as she approaches 12+ weeks of gestation.

So, if your gestation period was more than 12 weeks you need to take the Anti-D injection.

Visit your treating doctor with the lab result and seek his or her opinion.

Hope these information could be useful to you.

Best regards.
