Is Amoxicillin The Right Medicine For Tooth Abscess In A Child?

My 6 year old granddaughter had a tooth abscess, took amoxicillin for a week and had the lower molar extracted 2 1/2 days ago. Fevers UpTo 103.8 after 24 hours, the dentist up the amoxicillin from 2 to 3 doses a day. 60 hours since and she has nausea, lethargy, fevers up to 103. No bleeding or swelling. Should she see a doctor or dentist or hospital?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi. I have gone through your query.I would suggest that she sees a Doctor. The Amoxycillin is not working. She needs to be investigated. You can give her Paracetemol 325mg 3 times a day for the fever.
