Is Aleve Or Meloxicam Advisable For Pain In The Joints?

I am 63 yrs old and still active, like to ride bikes, play table tennis, walk through timber, etc. Sometimes joint pain will slow me down. I will sometimes take an Aleve before exercise and it helps, but I am leary to take anything on a regular basis. I have just heard of Meloxicam. If the Aleve is still working should I stick with it, or should I ask my doctor to prescibe Meloxicam. Which one is better for my joints and which one is harder on my system. Other than joint pain, I am in good health. Don t take one prescription med.

Hello,

Both Aleve and meloxicam are not suitable for long-term use. You can consider alternatives like tramadol which is quite effective and safe in elderly individuals.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
