Is Acetaminophen Safe To Be Taken While On Ibuprofen?

last Saturday I fell in the ice and snow. I fell on the concrete sidewalk. I wrenched my back and I am in some moderate to extream pain when I get up from laying in my bed. I have been taking ibuprofen (1-200 mg) and one acetaminophen (1-500mg). I was told by a friend that I should not take these together. Should I or not???

I am Dr. Akash Kumar and I am here to clear doubts regarding your problem
since you are having severe pain that's why doctor recommended you ibuprofen and acetaminophen, a combination of these 2 medicines have better effect in controlling pain and I would have recommended the same combination if such patient had come to my clinic.
however I also stress that this should not be taken as a general fact as there are several medicines which should not be taken together .

do consult a doctor if symptoms persist for longer days.
