Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had blood work done today as part I f my annual exam. My ALT was 54 and I just read what this test is and a high score indicates liver damage mms age. I don t have any symptoms of liver disease a b d don t drink on regular basis. Why would I have a high test result?
Thank you for asking your query on HealthcareMagic. As per your history, your ALT value is high normal. Since you are not a regular drinker nor have any symptoms, this can be considered as normal. The value of ALT should be 2-3 times the normal range to be of significance.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know in case of any further query.
Best, Dr Vishesh
