Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. M Agarwal's Response
hello. welcome to HCM.
In order to diagnose the cause of your pain, it is important for you to mention as to how did it onset/ start. Sometimes esophageal or gastric inlet spasms will cause sharp twitching kind of pain, which has a spasmodic quality. Locallized diaphragmatic pathologies can also cause pain in each breath.
Uncommonly, the you have described can be of cardiac origin, important if you are elderly and have other symptoms of cardiac disease.
It would be beneficial if you can keep a record of the duration/ precipitating factors/ associated symptoms and then visit a physician who will be able to diagnose it.
