Infant With Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) Has Recurrent Fever, Wheezing And Cough. Will VSD Heal Completely?

Hello doctor my baby is 9 and half months old his weight is7.6kg he is having moderate vsd in heart his health was not good one and half month back repeated fevers, cold and wheezing cough and from one month he is healthy i started cerelac orange after cerelac wheat apple cherry only two days evening i gave him cerelac orange again he got mild cough and now its getting more isit because of cerelac orange i stopped it and also can u generally tell me about his vsd problem he improved 900gms from one and half month his cardiologist says it will take time for the hole to cover up. Can u tell me are there chances for moderate vsd to cover upl?

Thank you for asking, Mild to moderate VSDs have good prognosis if taken good care and treted early infections like respiratory or others. Normaly children between 6 and 24 months heal recover very fast from it.
So i am sure your doctor is very right. Just take care of infections and recurrences. the two things to care for are respiratory tract infections and anemia irrespective of the cause. if they are taken care of, good nutrition, good hygiene i am sure moderate VSD will be completely fine after 24 months of the babys age
