Infant With Greenish Loose Stools. Reason?

My 9 months old daughter is having 3-4 greenish loose motions on daily basis for last 4 days. Otherwise she is normal in eating and other activities. We give her one apple/ pear in the morning, a small bowl of lentil/ dal in he afternoon and again a small bowl of ragi cooked in water in evening. This is her diet for at least a month now. Her four upper and two bottom teeth are also coming out. Please let us know if the recent loose motions are something to be worried about.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

It seems your child is having diarrhea mostly because of a virus.

The mainstay of treatment is to maintain hydration of the child.

Give sips of ORS like Pedialyte to maintain hydration.

Probiotic like saccharomyces or lactobacillus and zinc can be added orally.

Consult your pediatrician for examination and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
