Infant. History Of Fall. Loose Stools. Need Opinion.

My little one rolled off the bed this morning. She is seven months. There was the expected cry for a minute or two but she soon settled down and has been her normal self all day. Until this evening she has had loose stools. I have looked on here and a lot of people have said to watch out for that.. I'm wondering if I should take her to the out of hours service, bare in mind that she was up all night with her teeth last night and has had different couloured stools for the past day or two. Thanks

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Examine for any signs of injuries due to fall like any swelling, bruising, and for bleeding points on the body.

Watch for vomitings, abnormal behavior, persistent crying to look for any head injury and if you find any abnormality consult your doctor immediately.

The loose stools are due to some contamination by keeping hands into mouth.

Maintain hydration by giving sips of oral rehydration fluids like Pedialyte.

Consult your Pediatrician if the loose stools persist.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
