In May Of This Year I Broke My Lower Leg

In may of this year I broke my lower leg in 5 places, 2 in my tibia and 3 in my fibula, the major break in my tibia was at an angle, and was fixed with a rod and attached at the ankle and knee. It was set to far apart and didn't heal. 2 weeks ago my new Ortho removed the screw from the knee leaving the one at my ankle in place because the end of the rod was to close to the growth plate in the ankle. I saw the Dr. one week post surgery and I have bone growth now but it is really painful. I am wondering how long this pain is going to last, I do understand it is normal because of the healing but I am just done with the pain
