I hit my left hand really hard between my thumb and pointer finger on Monday night. There was instant pain and in the morning I saw swelling.Tuesday I ended up hitting it a few more times (also by accident). Now there has been a bruise since Tuesday (gradually getting bigger/worse) and I have 2 bumps on the bone in this area along the metacarpal (I believe) bones, that are kinda painful. I have almost full range and use of hand and fingers, except my pointer finger is very stiff and is kind of hard to move. I havent had much pain since Wednesday. I went and saw the university athletic trainer and he said he thought it was just a severe bone bruise and gave me a splint and bandage to wrap around my hand. Now on Friday, my hand is still swollen, there is still stiffness and discomfort but not much pain at all (only when I bump it or use it to much or keep it by my side to much.) The bruise is still bad and the spots are still there. Only now I have 2 new symptoms. My hand feels numb where the swelling and initial impact were and also when I keep it unwrapped for more than 2 minutes or I touch the hand in that spot to check on it, I either get really nauseous, dizzy or both. I am very, Very concerned. I have been told by several people that they think I need to go to the Dr. or even ER. I am afraid that it really is just a severe bone bruise, and if I go to the Dr. it will have been for nothing. I really need your help. What do you think I should do?
