I hit my arm and and it hurts too much

I hit my arm really hard today when I was exercising I hit my arm really hard today when I was exercising and I do have a bruise but what bothers me is part of my hand hurts and feels funny. Could I have injured a nerve or something. It feels like my hand doesn t want to work right when I go to do something. Or did I just injure the muscle so bad it is causing the problem with my hand. Not sure if I should have it looked at. thanks mary beth

thanks for choosing health care magic. When ever a muscle get hurt by trauma the muscle fibers gets swollen and what you see outside is swelling, this swelling compresses the other structures in the near by area and lead to pain and such kind of problems due to irritation of nerve.Bruise occurs due to rupture of small vessels inside and below skin. For couple of hours even minor injury cane lead to this.Apply any analgesic oint that you have ,take analgesic even if you do not have pain and you can even try cold light message. This usually take care of this kind of problem.if not pl.see your family doctor.
