I have severe RA I recently was referred to a clinic through our community hospital. The Dr. I saw wants me to start taking Plaquinal. I read side affects which scare me due to already going through a lot, it stated that blood test should be run frequently due to liver problems; the Dr. did not mention that nor did she give any lab work to be done til my next visit to the clinic in Feb. 2015. Is it wise to be taking this medication w/no one monitoring me? also it causes retina damage. This RA DR sais I just need to have my eyes checked 1 X year........ others are telling me it needs to be monitored 1X monthly. Is this poor health care for my severe RA?
