Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had pain in my sternum (where my 2nd rib connects) that radiates around the back of my neck and into my head for several years. After doing some research online, it sounds like the chest pain is costochondritis but I can t find any symptoms that associate that condition with the neck pain . Recently the onset of these pains has become much more frequent and I am beginning to get concerned. Any ideas ?

Hello and welcome to healthcare magic!!!
Well i would suggest you consult a doctor instead of online research and since you say there is radiation of pain mostly it is due to a cervical problem it is better to get a x ray done to confirm that. It could be cervical spondylosis causing some nerve compression.
Hi;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
Since the pain is from several years did you get a X-ray of cervical spine done.Cervical spine can give rise to pain in neck if your age is above 35 yrs it could be a spondylosis associated even with costochondritis ;or if you haven't done x-ray get it done to rule out cervical rib.These are few possibilities.
Thanks
