I have had cold symptoms start on 03/31. Felt congested nasal passages and a bit of scratchy throat. Prefer to use homeopathic remedies to help my body heal from colds and flu infections if possible. I started self treatment of a homeopathic remedy purchased off the shelf at my local pharmacy called ColdCalm (made by Boiron) and a vitamin/herbal dietary supplement chewable tablet to boost the immune system called "AirShield (CVS brand). Took these according to directions. Showed signs of improvement and could go to work, as I had not experienced headache, fever or chills at that time. By 04/01 - 04/02 showed signs of improvement. As of 04/04 flu developed into larger problem. Started taking Oscillococcinum (made also by Boiron) product on 04/07. I could not get into see my doctor (on leave till 04/08). Nurse Practitioner could see me on 04/07. When I saw NP, flu symptoms diagnosed and treatment options offered. I still have some discomfort of headaches, low grade fever (99 - 100) and green colored mucus nasal discharge. I do not want to take Amoxycillin for this flu, but I may have to. I have been trying to stay on Oscillococcinum, tylenol, nasal decongestant, drinking plenty of liquids and bed rest to heal. Question is do I just go get the Amoxycillin if I have the nasal discharge and mild headache so I am not contagious 04/10? I feel it takes time for things like this to heal, but I am running out of time till needed back at work. Your advice is appreciated, Doctor. Thank you, Carol
