I have been scratching my face at night for several months. It occurs when I am sleeping. Although there isn't severe itching, I wake up with blood under my fingernails(usually only with my left hand). The blood is usually lessened when i wash my face before bed. The scratching is worse when I sleep on the same mattress compared to a new place. I remember the symptoms started occurring when I noticed an "x" mark on my face. Things gradually became worse. I have tried hydroxyzine but it did not help. People I see frequently also develop visiblemarks there face.
