I Have An 18 Year Old Granddaughter Who Has RSD.

I have an 18 year old granddaughter who has RSD. She was diagnosed approx. 3 years ago. And although I'm quite certain she really does have the disorder, my concern is that since being diagnosed she has become less and less interested in recovering, and the window of opportunity to be able to recover is closing, if not already closed. Several treatments have been tried, but if there is any effort required on her part she balks or makes the minimal effort required to satisfy her mother. The most recent treatment involved some form of neural stimulation (a Vecctor machine I believe), and although my wife and I could see some obvious physical improvement (color returning to her face and arms, and more physical activity) she insisted that there was no improvement. My observation has been that since her diagnosis she has received increasing amounts of attention from friends, family, and even people who don't know her (social media). The most noted attention is from her mother, who will drop everything to attend to her daughters 'needs', no matter how trivial. Along with that the granddaughter has derived a certain amount of 'power' from her situation and she can now control the behavior of any household situation with a well place complaint or desire. But any mention of this observation to anyone involved, no matter how veiled, tactful, or subtly it's presented, is met with an angry and long winded retort.
I have two questions:
1) Is there a name for this type of behavior (Munchausen Syndrome)
2) We fear the long term repercussions of this behavior. What can we do?
We love our daughter and our granddaughter, but we can't participate in this charade.

Thank you for your time,
Frustrated.
