I Had Surgery To Repair Small Tears In The Meniscus

I had surgery to repair small tears in the meniscus in right knee in May. Progress was slow and I was consistent in doing the non weight bearing exercises, building up to cycling and eventually walking.I am a keen hill walker and gradually went back to the hills four months post op. That has been painful but recently the pain has been much less. I seemed to making good progress until yesterday when I was doing a low level walk and suddenly I experienced a sharp searing pain to the outer side of my knee behind the patella. I now have pain walking short distances on flat surfaces. Has further damage been done to the meniscus?
