Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my top wisdom teeth removed 7 days ago. The stitches on the top right came out that night. My doctor was unable to see me until 6 days later. He then told me the flaps were dying and not adhering due to bacteria. He told me to use toothpaste and push the flaps in a down ward motion once every hour. The flap covering the hole from extraction. Is staying in place. The flap along the gum line is moving and not adhering. He told he the tissue is unable to be sutured back and I may need skin graph if they won't adhere. How many more days can the tissue last before dying completely? Should I continue to get up all night long and do this finger massage or should I sleep for a few hours. He set a follow up with his nurse to see me in the morning. I am very scared? What should I do? Thank you for your time. He did confirm I do not have dry socket. I also called him sat and told him the suture had come out. He said it was fine.
