I Had Bouts Of Diarrhea While Travelling In Peru. When

I had bouts of diarrhea while travelling in Peru. When I take inmodium, it helps for a day or so and my bowl movements become completely solid with small bits of mucus throughout. Then after about a day or two, the watery diarrhea comes back. I've been home for a few days now and still have symptoms. A travel doctor gave me Cipro and I'm wondering if I should take it. I have read scary potential side effects. Or could this diarrhea go away as I adjust to being home? Only other symptom is sporadic mild abdomen cramping
