I Got Ankle Injury From Basketball. What I Have To Do?

Hello The other day I was playing basketball. I went up for a lay-up and was knocked down by a defender. I landed awkwardly on my ankle, twisting it to the outside (not rolling it in). Nevertheless, I went to a physician and she told me it was probably sprained. However, 5 days after I have some moderate swelling and there appears to be a bruise (minor) that has settled at the bottom of my foot. I was wondering what you think this is? Also what the next appropriate course of action is?

THanks for the query

If u r able to walk alright and it is not troubling u then u could just use pain killers to bring down the pain. Also try to immobilize the limb as much as possible.
If the pain is still persisting then i advice u to seek help from an orthopedician to rule out a meniscus tear. An MRI maybe require for this
