I fell on the ice very hard and hurt my tailbone. I was with an emergency room physician and she said without an x-ray she couldn't tell if I fractured the tailbone, but she said either way the treatment would be the same. It was bruised and very sore the next day and since then, it will be 4 weeks since the fall. The last week, the tailbone is still tender and hurts to sit, but I am now having paid in my lower back in a circle above the top crack of my butt. My husband has looked at it and said there is a circle where is is bruised and swollen. Could the fall have fractured my lower back, and or pelvis, and is this something that I should go have x-rayed?
