I am travelling to Central America in 6 weeks. I just received my Hep A and Hep B vaccinations today and was told that I need the 2nd/final shot for Hep A in 6 months, and the 2nd shot of Hep B in 1 month, then the 3rd/final shot 5 months after that. My question is: Am I protected since I won't have a complete series of either immunization before I travel?? When I asked the nurse who administered my shots, she said "Well, we can't guarantee that." So, I'm a little concerned.
