I am having sharp pain in about a one inch diameter area behind my left ear right were you can feel the bone scull part of the scull or brain i'm not sure. I recently a few months ago had 4 steroid injection procedures in the back of my neck. Seven years ago it helped quite a bit as I can take a lot of pain so for me to complain it's got to be pretty bad. Well new doc /looser sorry I went to this time and have had all kinds of bad problems and ended up in be for about 7 months. Shots gave me all kinds of crazy reactions, 5 visits to ER for severe pain in neck and the shots did absolutely nothing for me. I have degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia, arthritis and bulges on each disc in the neck area and a pinched nerve. I refuse to go on pain medication because i'm allergic to so many different things that I usually have bad reactions. The pain doctor the did the procedure said will just put you on a high dose of pain medication if the injections don't help. They didn't help and he seemed to run the business more like a meat market. People just lined up to go in and get the procedure done. Like I said I had this done on my neck and back by a different doctor 7 yrs. ago and got quite a relief. This quack just made me sick and had many things happen to my body. I'm not doing anything with him ever again about it. I paid my final bill and said I was done with going there ever again. Especially after asking 5 times letting them know I need to know exactly what kind of concoction they came up with and added to the steroid since I had so many severe problems. I'm now just literally using a soft ice bag and freezing my bare neck a few times at night which hurts but nothing like the pain. Like I said I can't take much do to to many allergic reactions. To help you out a little if someone is at about a 9 in pain I can say that's about a 5 for me I can take a lot of pain but this is getting out of hand and i'm at about an 8 about 24 7. 50% want to do surgery and 50% don't say to do it at all. I will not have surgery as I do know from my experience it is not bad enough to do it but am know scared because of major headaches and now the left side of my head behind the ear lobe as if I fold my hear forward that bone area you feel right there is having sharp pains that shoot like a nail into it about every 1 a minute. Kind of as if it were a severe ear infection but my ears are just fine. I worked in the medical field about 20 years so i'm quite good at research and especially with all weve been through with my husband but i'm stumped on this one and it's making me just want to take something to completely put me out for a while. As to the fact that i have not slept in three days and also suffer from chronic insomnia. Sorry to sound abrupt or like such a mess but I can't afford to keep running to the ER for things and am trying to figure this one out on my own and can't seem to imagine what it is this time. I would appreciate any help asap as like I said i'm hurting extremely bad and can do nothing about it. Can you please help with any suggestions in any way. I believe I may need a MRI or Cat Scan done on the skull but would like to know if there is even a guess before I have to go there because I pratically glow in the dark now for all the years of neck and back injuries. Of course I never caused one accident but suffer from the people who have injured me and now I just have to live with it. Any help would be so much appreciated and Im sure by this letter you can tell i'm upset and not feeling well and hurting and also trying to find any kind of answer. Thank you so much Krissy
