Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 68 year old female. I had a colectomy about 12 years ago. Benign tumor. I have had Colonoscopy since then several times. My last one was 5 years ago. I am due for this test this year I am experiencing a lot of gas in my abdomen. This began on Friday Feb. 12th. With an episode of cramping and gas along with a bowl movement. Since then I have a dull twinge on left side of the abdomen almost feeling like trapped gas. After some time I a relieved by gas and then it begins again especially after a meal. Should I be concerned? See a doctor? Gastroenterologist or gynecologist? I am currently in Florida for a few months. Going back home for only a week in March then back in New Jersey in May. Do I seek help now?
