Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 62 year old male who has had high blood pressure most of my life (even when I was in my early 20s). I have been told that my BP should be 120/80. But typically, now, it is 140/90 or it can be as high as 157/100. I have been on almost all of the various BP meds. Currently I am on Exforge. If I get stressed it seems to make me feel worse (like my throat is closing or I get palpitations). My doctor put my on Amlodipine recently but all that did was make me so tired that I could hardly stay awake. I am afraid to exercise because I might have a stroke. But I eat healthy (at home, a nutritionist would be proud, low salt). I do snore but the sleep test was unsuccessful and inconclusive. I am at my wits end.
