I am 32 weeks pregnant and was on 25 mg of Synthroid as I was potentially sub clinical hypothyroidism this pregnancy (TSH was upper 3 to one reading at 4.2 but T3 and T4 were at normal levels and no TPO antibodies). Anyways I ended up going into hyperthyroidism and felt awful (heart palpitations, severe dizziness, nauseous, diarrhea, hot flashes, anxiety etc). Both my new endroconlogist, cardiologist and a trip to ER confirmed this and got me off Synthroid. In process I was put on Metoprolol Succ ER 25mg once at night for the heart palpitations. I have been off Synthroid for 13 days now and on Metoprolol for 8 days at that dosage. I started feeling much better off Synthroid at it’s half life probably around day 8. I was starting to get dizzy and don’t feel great on the Metoprolol so want off! They had me half the 25mg (even though it’s the ER version for three dosages now). I wanted a second opinion as to how long to continue with the half dosage and if I need to do every other day after that. I am nervous taking a category c drug while pregnant when I don’t need it (normal blood pressure throughout although I tend to have low blood pressure in general). I also don’t love that when pregnant your heart rate runs a bit higher so don’t like seeing my heart rate get too low pregnant. I’m on a chest monitor for a month so want to detox while being monitored too. I would love a second opinion and recommendation of how to detox
