I also had a false negative on 10mg of the butrans patch. The APRN told me that I had failed the past 2 tests (someone should have told me I failed the first) and then said if I failed a thord time I would be DC from pain management. She actually told me she suspected that I was doing something illegal with them! Trust I wasnt. I was in a car accident, fractured pelvis (they missed it so it healed wrong) torn rotator cuff (they missed that too so that also healed wrong) 2 cervical fusions, one thoracic fusion, L3,4,5 herniated discs and I fell earlier this year fracturing my sacrum and breaking my coccyx. Anyone thinking I am not in pain and would not use my pain meds is crazy. Was on oxycodone but got off it because I am looking for work. Funny thing is after accusing me, she suggested that I go back on the oxycodone (duh...ummm if I were doing something illegal??? Really?) just so I would have a positive test. I have many medical problems. Bipolar, I take lamotrigne, topiramate, cymbalta, I have lyphocytic colitis which has been active for 2 years and I stopped meds as nothing works, I have hypothyroid so I take meds for that and at first they thought I was hypoglycemic but I just got tested today to see if its actually diabetes as I have severe problems with my feet (which could be the back problems too). I also take a muscle relaxer, tizanadine??? Could any of these meds/conditions cause the false negative? The APRN insists that there has NEVER been a false negative for Butrans which I know is not true. They are mailing me the toxicology screens tomorrow. I dont want to be on oxy but I dont want to be DC from the clinic either. Where can I go to prove to them they are wrong? They even ask to see the patch when I go. I save the used patches and bring them in. They dont believe a word I say and are very demeaning. Wednesday I left the office crying...
