How To Treat Underdeveloped Optic Nerve And Dry Eyes?

I AM 52 and recently had a eye exam, and the doctor said that the picture which was done of my eye showed high pressure? So she wanted mesh to come back for testing for glaucoma! She said that my optic nerve was very small and my signal was rather slow, but I DID NOT HAVE THE DISEASE! She told me that I HAVE TO DO THIS EXAM EVERY YEAR TO WATCH IT CLOSELY! I also have very dry eyes and presently use restasis. IS THERE ANYTHING I can do to help maintain my eye health, SHEILA

Hi Sheila and welcome to HCM,
From the description you have given, it seems you are a Glaucoma suspect.
Which means that you are not a established case, but there is a chance that you might develop glaucoma in future, and the importance of regular follow up. Pls also bear in mind that glaucoma may not show any symptoms in the early stages. Optic nerve head involvement is one of the risk factors of glaucoma. Fortunately nowadays there are excellent tests to detect glaucoma very early, and we have a wide range of treatment options.
To maintain your eye health, I advice you to have regular followup with your eye doctor.
All the best!!!
