How To Treat Tumors In Armpits?

Hi Doc, my wife has tumor in her armpits (both) - they look like fatty b9 tumor. One side is a big one and another side a small. They appeared after she delivered our son. Our doctor said it will vanish after some time. But even after 5 years, they still exist. She feels pain when pressed. Is it better to operate and remove the tumors? Please suggest...

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The most possible cause of lump in the bilateral axillary region are lymph nodal mass lesions.
2.Lymph nodal enlargement is seen in case of any infection / inflammation, which can be localised or systemic.
3.First thing would suggest to get an ultrasound of breast and both axillary regions. Ultrasound will assess the nature of the lump, its source and extensions.
4.That will evaluate any possible cause in the breast or just lymphadenopathy. An FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology to evaluate the nature of the cells.
5.Sugget to see your GP and get examined, investigated and treated accordingly.

Good luck.
