hi doctor!am a lady aged 34 years now,tall,67kg.my question is that i have tonsil stones, have been trying to remove them but in vain since i vomit everything from my stomach, are there any medicine to remove them since they keep on pilling each an everyday i take food?
As per your query if you have tonsil stones that you are unable to remove on your own, you should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he will remove it easily and as you have gagging reflex on removing the stones it occurs due to sensitive soft palate that on touching causes gag.. He/she can spray local anaesthetic solution over the soft palate so that it will get numb and prevent gagging sensation.. There is no medication that can remove tonsil stones, therefore manual removal is to be done. You can reduce the frequency of occurrence by gargling after every time you eat anything and also limit the intake of dairy products as they have more of calcium and will cause more stone formation as stones are nothing but calcified structures that are formed by calcification of food debris and dust over the tonsil crypts..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
