How To Treat The Swollen Ankle Caused By A Scraping?
Hello, a wood pallet scraped my inner right calf, and down the bone on Sunday night. Had long pants on, left roughly a 3" long scrape that I bandaged. It swelled up but I got it elevated and applied ice. Last night I noticed brusing and a little swelling around my right ankle? Something I should be concerned about?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. From description it seems to be soft tissue injury. Persistent swelling might be due to infection in the area. I advice you to give you rest to the part affected, take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin 1 tablet with food as and when required (upto 4 tablets daily) to reduce pain and inflammation and consult your doctor for thorough examination and rule out any infective cause. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
