How To Treat Swelling In The Urethra?

I had a caruncle removed then developed a UTI and was given cipro in the ER. My urologist said to wait two weeks and if the urethra is still uncomfortable to see him for a cystoscopy. I feel like there is swelling in the urethra and wonder how long it takes to heal? I also wonder if
I should just have the cystoscopy done and how long it takes to heal after that? I am uncomfortable walking and moving around much.
A PA at the OBGYN did the caruncle removal and my urologist
questions her procedure. I am a 59 year old female in good health until all of this started.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) without swelling in urethra, will respond very well to the medications within 7 to 10 days period.

I would strongly recommend you to undergo diagnostic cystoscopy for further evaluation and management guidelines. If minor swelling, it comes around recovered nice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
