Hi and welcome to HCM
From your description of the skin lesion, being a single ring, it is most probably a fungal infection of the scalp, called tinea capitis. it can be seen in children, especially with sweating.
Another thing to rule out is lice or other infestations.
Wash the area with water and clean the sticky pus, Apply an antifungal like ketoconazole twice a day. Use a similar ketoconazole shampoo to wash on alternate days.
Do consult a dermatologist to test the area for presence of fungus, and regarding continuing the treatment. Also tablets maybe prescribed if necessary. They will advise regarding how long to continue the application.
Fungal infections require regular treatment to prevent recurrence.
Also use separate toiletries.
Anyone else with similar complaints need to be treated. If other family members or contacts have similar complaints, they need to be checked to rule out lice infestation, etc.
hope this helps you.
