How To Treat Split Of Skin On Elbow Caused After Injury?
My 17 year old daughter hit her elbow on the corner of a glass shower door. It split the skin open, about 1/2 inch long but deep enough to see the bone. I butterflied it and covered it with gauze.Should this heal on its own or should we have it stitched/glued at urgent care? Worried Mom on Mother s Day ;)

As your daughter have split skin on elbow approx 1/2 inch and deep, i suggest you to consult a good surgeon for this. Open wound have easy to get infected. Get proper dressing for it , cover it with gauze piece. Clean with betadine solution .
It is better to consult a doctor for this.
