How To Treat Soreness In Tongue And Roof Of Mouth?

My tongue is very sore and back top of the roof of my mouth is burning. This is all after I had something that was stuck in my esophagus for like 5 days it seemed. Finally went down but throat has felt infected ever since. How can I make my tongue and back of throat feel normal again?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain it seems that you have Stomatitis leading to inflammation in different mucous membranes of mouth leading to soreness and burning..
As you had something stuck in the throat so discomfort after it went down seems not due to infection but due to injury caused by the stuck food leading to discomfort..
You should do warm saline gargles..
Gargle with cold water and sucking ice pops can help in reducing soreness and inflammation of tongue and roof of mouth..
Throat lozenges can help in relieving the throat..
If there is pain OTC painkiller like Ibuprofen can be taken..
Gargle with a numbing solution can help in relieving mouth as well as upper throat especially during eating..
Avoid very hot and spicy food..
Take a soft and bland diet and drink plenty of water..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
