How To Treat Skin Rushes While On Betamethasone/mediven/betamed?

Hi doctor, my name is Rose,i was introduced to Betamethasone/mediven/betamed 15 years back by my mother who had the same skin problem as me( Skin rushes), all those years i have been unable to stop using it and am afraid if i stop my skin will turn into a crocodile like skin with too many rushes, please advice me on what to do, at this point i feel very desperate and i need help before i can start planning having children and also to maintain my self esteem

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Betamethasone is a potent steroid. Though you did'nt mention the site where you are using it but in general it is not recommended to be used for more than 2-4 weeks without doctor supervision because it can cause steroid related side effects like skin thinning and telangiectasias, acne, photosensitivity and hirsutim (if used on face) etc.

Therefore i would advice that you stop using betamethasone cream and visit a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment for the rashes.
