How To Treat Red Sore On Forearm?

Hi, I have a raised red sore on my forearm. I ve pulled out two white keratinized hairs over the last few months. The sore has been flat for a while but not is very raised again; the weather has been very humid and hot. Any ideas of what it is and treatment for it?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Seems to be bacterial infection of the hair follicle.

I would advice that you visit a local practitioner and get a prescription for oral antibiotic. I would have preferred penicillin group of oral antibiotics in such a case.

An antibiotic ointment like 2% mupirocin which is available OTC can also be applied along with oral antibiotic.

take care
regards
