How To Treat Red Rash On Chest?

Hi, I have a red rash on my chest. It started one week ago and itches slightly. No bumps--just splotches. it is shaped like a triangle about the size of the V-neck on a T-shirt. Any possible ideas or treatments? I plan to call a dermatologist Monday but not sure what I can do until then. Thanks, Mary
