How To Treat Red Mark With Burning Sensation On Upper Lip?

My 14 year old daughter just had her upper lip waxed for the first time. We did not realize that it's not a good idea to wax while using Epiduo acne lotion. 30 minutes later, she now has a bright red mark with a burning sensation on one side. Do you please have any recommendations for what can be done tonight?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query. It usually occur after waxing due to hard plucking of hair and hot temperature of wax.But in your case waxing is contraindicated with this lotion and this produce redness and burning sensation.

I would suggest you to stop using epiduo lotion, wash face with mild soap ,apply aloe vera gel and give cold compresses.

If condition do not subside then consult dermatologist .Doctor may prescribe antihistamine drug along with other treatment.
