How To Treat Peeling Skin Around Eyebrows, Upper Lip, And Bridge Of Nose?

Hello, my issue isn t by any means recent, it s been affecting me for approx. 3 yrs What the problem is, is the skin around and in my eyebrows, bridge of my nose to the end of my nose and the skin above my upper lip, are peeling and have continued to do so daily. I use lotion to moisturize my face after showering, and I even apply cover-up make-up as my skin is really red when it does peel. I feel embarrassed to go out knowing how bad my skin looks. The next day after I wake up, I look in the mirror, and the skin is flaky and peeling again. It s like the skin is trying to regrow itself and then dries out and cracks then peels overnight. Is there a way to cure/treat this? Help please.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Seems to be suffering from seborrhoeic dermatitis which presents as dull red erythema and scaling over the seborrhoeic areas e.g scalp, face(eyebrows, eyelashes, sides of nose, chin, upper lip, chest etc).

For facial involvement i usually ask my patients to apply a moderately potent steroid cream twice daily for a week or 10 days following which the redness and scaling dramatically improves.

Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a remitting and relapsing condition and is usually worse in winters. Since steroids can't be used for ever, so dermatologist usually prescribe an immunomodulator like pimecrolimus or tacrolimus for maintaining the improvement achieved with steroids.

Ketconazole lotion can be used as a face wash twice or thrice weekly

take care
regards
