How To Treat Painful Baker S Cyst On Left Leg While Suffering From Factor V Leiden?
I have been diagnosed with a bakers cyst in the back of my left leg and and it is starting to swell a little bit more and both my legs hurt so bad i cant even walk. so i have scheduled my self to go to an orthopedic dr to x ray my legs and maybe relieve some pain from my legs. i also i have just had a pace maker put in in and also be diagnoised with factor five leiden of which i want to go to see a hematologist to see if theres anyhing i need to be doing for that so far i have not had a blood clot but my sister has and my cousin has so i have been pretty lucky.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The baker's cyst on back of knee is painful due to infection and inflammation. Anti-inflammatory drugs and pain killers will be required to decrease the pain and inflammation. After the pain and inflammation are controlled, surgical removal of the cyst may be planned. Since, you have factor V leiden deficiency, treatment with oral anti-coagulant like warfarin will be required to prevent any clotting if any surgery is required. Thus, consultation with a hematologist will be required for management of factor V leiden mutation.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
