How To Treat Pain In Calf Muscles Post Injury?

Hello, Earlier this evening I was playing baseball with my husband. I was pitching, and once I threw the ball, he hit it & it hit my shin. It immediately swelled up & got purple. Second time around, same thing happened except a little lower from the shin and close to my ankle. I am in so much pain and can t put weight on my leg/foot because it hurts so bad!! Is this something I should go to the ER for? It s been 5 hours and I m still in pain unless I m icing it and elevating it.

I would suggest you to get a x ray of the ankle as some time these type of injuries can cause fracture of the shaft, hairline. I would suggest you to apply compression bandage, voletran ointment and tablet Brufen for pain relief.
It is good that you are applying ice , as it will decrease swelling. Avoid standing for long time, do rest and keep your leg elevated over pillow.
