How To Treat Oral Ulcer Caused After Surgery?

I had oral surgery a week ago. I have a gaping, nasty looking hole/ulcer where some stitches were. I was at the doctor's today & he didn't seem too concerned. They removed the stitches & said it should heal up soon. I'm rinsing with Peredex & taking antibiotics. How long will this take to heal? It's painful. Is there anything else I can do to help it along?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain you did not explained that you have undergone surgery for what kind of problem..
A small gap or hole at the site of oral surgery shows that still the healing is progressive and the tissue in that area are not completely grown and filled up the space..
But you need not to worry as gradually the surgery space will get healed along with filling up with healing tissue..
As there is a profuse blood supply in the mouth the healing takes place fast and you can just relax..
Follow the instructions given by your surgeon and take proper medications as advised..
In a week or ten days there should be complete healing..

If it does not heal consult your surgeon back for evaluation..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
