How To Treat Oily Skin With Dry Skin?

Hi, I have a weird problem. When I look for answers for my skin issues, I either see results for dry/flakey skin or oily skin, but not both. I have very very dry skin when i wash it. As soon as I put on oil free moisturiser; 5 minutes in, my top of nose becomes really oily, so does the chin and forehead. I can put a tissue on my nose and it gets soaked because of the oil. For this reason i cannot put foundation. Even if I put powdered foyndation, it gathers unevenly at the top of my nose and lip area. If I put a cream, matte foundation, the dry flakes on my fakes start peeling off and its all very badly visible. what can i do? I also have very redish uneven skintone when im out in the sun or cold too much. Nothing works! HELP!

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be seborrheic dermatitis most probably.

There may be some triggering factors like excessive sun exposure, sleeplessness, anxiety and tension.

Apply mild steroid cream combined with antibiotic.

Take a course of oral steroid in tapering dose.

If needed, short term antibiotic may be taken.

To relieve itching, antihistaminics may be taken.

Cleanse scalp with shampoo containing ketoconazole.

Hope this helps.
