How To Treat Muscle Cramps In Body After Having Multiple Hip Replacements?

I am on disability for a variety of issues - multiple hip replacements, 3 neck surgeries (1 anterior, 2 posterior, low back surgery, DVT, and both shoulders, are the most obvious. I have started having muscle spasms and muscle cramps all over my body, especially om right arm/shoulder, my right chest, stomach and both legs - especially thighs. This began only at night and now is almost constant. I have been given potassium and magnesium along with a multi vitimin. Any things that I should be over concerned about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome to hcm,
I really appreciate your concern,
As you have undergone many surgeries in past it is most likely that you may have lost a lot amount of blood which may have been replaced by blood transfusion.
In such cases it is more likely to have calcium deficiency which can cause cramps
It is better to get in touch with the endocrinologist for the same
As of now you can take tablet shelcal which is a calcium supplement 3 times a day.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Thanks, regards.
