How To Treat Loose Motions In Infants?

after pediatric surgery of new born (birth by surgery - 36 weeks of pregancy) for jejunal atresia, now baby has loose motion/diarreoha so breast milk and lactosen stopped and nutramigen/pregestimil feeding started but some amount of loose motion/diarreoha is still with baby, also some time white stool passes. no weight gain ? what to do now ?

Hi Dear
welcome to the HCM
Breast feed or lactogen to be stopped only when there is confirmed lactose intolerance other wise it will not help.
Many babies do pass very frequent stool ,but if the baby is not gaining weight according to the age then one should think of some GIT or faulty feeding problem.
Please take care of the recommended dilution of powdered milk.
Bottle hygiene to be observed strictly.
Stool culture also to be done to rule out any infection.
