As per your complain hives over the body that itch and burn can be most probably due to allergic reaction caused by certain foods or medications while can also be Contact Dermatitis caused by certain skin cosmetics, detergants, leather, latex, poison ivy, certain bug bites etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can advise you blood tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc to rule out the exact cause of allergic reaction and treat you accordingly.. Once the cause of the reaction is ruled out you need to completely avoid exposure to it to prevent allergy attack.. You can also be instilled an Immunotherapy to reduce the frequency and severity of the symptoms.. As of ow you can take anti allergics like Levocetrizine or Allegra, apply steroid ointment, do cool compresses and apply calamine lotion to soothe the skin.. Hope this information helps..
